How safe is the Ram 1500?

The 2017 Ram 1500 received a 4-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The frontal crash test and the rollover crash test received four stars, out of five. The side crash test received five stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also rated the crashworthiness of the Ram 1500.

The small overlap crash test and the roof strength crash test received a marginal safety score. The moderate overlap front crash test, side impact crash test and the rear crash protection test received good safety ratings, the highest possible rating.

The Ram 1500 model includes antilock brakes, blind spot monitoring and stability control.

The Ram 1500 has been around since 1994. The full size pickup truck is known for its excellent ride quality, fuel efficient turbodiesel engine and premium cabin. The Ram 1500 was the winner of Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year award in 2013 and 2014.
