About this vehicle

The ultra-luxury 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 or the AWD variant 4matic is an SUV that comes with a 2.0-liter inline 4-turbo engine. It reaches zero to 60 in 6.6 seconds using 221 horsepower engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that’ll get you a decent mpg of 24 in the city and 33 for the highway. It has a maximum range of an estimated 305 and 430 miles, respectively.

Starting at $36,230 MSRP, the newest model comes with few new changes with the exception of two minor infotainment updates: the inclusion of a SiriusXM satellite radio and a 115-volt power outlet in the optional Premium package. *Yawn. But on the bright side, the infotainment system is intuitive and user-friendly.

Drawbacks include low off-road performance, below-average trunk storage capacity and lack of exterior noise-proofing.

But again on the plus-side: the GLA includes some nifty standard safety features that could positively affect your insurance rates. These include automated emergency braking as well as:

  • Standard pedestrian detection and automated emergency braking.
  • Available lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning.
  • Available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.
