About the Hyundai Veloster

The Hyundai Veloster has been around since 2011. The car differentiates itself from its competitors with the asymmetric door style; one large door on the driver’s side and smaller doors on the passenger’s’ side. The latest model of the compact Veloster is known for its low base price and a large variety of standard features. In 2011, the Veloster race car was used in the Summer X Games. The Veloster race car went on sale in 2013.

The latest model as awarded a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating by the NHTSA. The Hyundai Veloster was awarded four stars, out of five, for the rollover crash test and frontal crash test by the NHTSA. According to the IIHS, the 2017 model rated the small overlap front test as marginal and the side impact test as acceptable. The other crash test performed by IIHS were deemed as good, the highest score possible.

In 2013, there were 25 models stolen in the United States, reported by the NHTSA. That is a 0.48% theft rate based on the number of models produced that year.
