      Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out to finder.

Geico will tow your vehicle to the nearest dealer repair shop for the make of the car you have. Whatever that distance is, that’s how far they will tow your car. If you choose to take your car to another repair shop (non-dealer), you have to pay for the towing service at your own expense.

You can contact Geico directly to confirm this information as the coverage terms may vary from one policy to another.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Charisse

How many tows are allowed yearly

      Hi Kenneth,

Thank you for leaving a question.

There is not a specific limit on how often you can use the Emergency Road Service (ERS) coverage. However, Geico will review the policy if it seems that ERS claims are frequent. This can indicate that there is a problem with the vehicle that has not been fixed.

If claims are too frequent, GEICO reserves the right to remove the coverage from your policy at renewal. This is done in order to keep the cost of the service low for all our policyholders, and to discourage non-emergency use of the service.

Geico’s general guideline is to send a caution letter if ERS has been used for the same vehicle 3 or more times in the same year, and to remove the coverage if use becomes even more excessive.

      Hope this helps!

If I get my top car towed to my house can I get it towed again to a car shop

      AvatarFinder
      johnbasanesAugust 30, 2018Finder

      Hi Wilson,

Thank you for leaving a question.

Regarding the coverage for vehicles under the “GEICO Emergency Road Service cover”. The items below are part of the coverage:

Jump starts for dead car batteries
Labor to change a flat tire
      Towing (not accident related)
      Lockout services (up to $100)

Towing would only be accommodated if it is due to an emergency as defined in the terms and conditions of Geico. There may be certain scenarios where this may be applicable but it is best to contact Geico regarding this. Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Reggie

If I use the roadside tow service, could I tow my vehicle to a junkyard or does it have to be to my home or to a service center?

      Hi NolanB,

      Thanks for your inquiry

The Geico Roadside Assistance Service tows your vehicle from the current location to the nearest service station or repair shop in the area. If you wish for the vehicle to be towed to your home, you may have to inform them beforehand.

      Hope this information helps

Does Geico ers cover key replacement

      AvatarFinder
      JeniApril 2, 2018Finder

      Hi Anthony,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

If your car key is lost or stolen, you may be able to claim for the cost of a replacement on your car insurance policy. Some insurers offer key cover automatically on their standard car insurance policies, however in Geico’s Emergency Roadside Service it only cover lockout services of up to $100.

I suggest that you contact Geico directly for more accurate info about replacing your keys as well.

      I hope this helps.

      Have a great day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni
