Finding the right travel insurance cover when you have medical issues to cater for isn’t an easy task. AllClear is a platform where you can get quotes and compare specialist policies. It offers travel insurance for any age, and a range of conditions and destinations so you can enjoy your holiday worry-free.
We’ve analysed AllClear’s travel insurance policies to help you decide if it offers what you need.
Who is AllClear?
AllClear Travel is a UK-based insurance provider specialising in medical cover. The company was first established in 2000 and offers travel insurance for customers with pre-existing conditions.
What are my cover options with AllClear?
At AllClear you have a choice between two policy types: single-trip travel insurance and annual multi-trip travel insurance.
What is covered under my policy?
Cover Type | Medical expenses | Cancellation and curtailment cover | Cover for personal belongings | Conditions |
---|---|---|---|---|
Single trip travel insurance | Up to £20,000,000 | Up to £5,000 | Up to £3,000 | Any age, any medical condition, any destination |
Annual multi-trip travel insurance | Up to £20,000,000 | Up to £5,000 | Up to £3,000 | Any age, any medical condition, any destination |
You’ll also enjoy these benefits:
- Access to a 24-hour emergency medical assistance service
- Treatment for unexpected necessary medical treatment for any declared pre-existing conditions on your policy
- Cover for both mild and severe medical conditions
Optional extras
If you’re looking for some added protection to your travel insurance policy, AllClear does offer a wide range of optional extras, including:
- Cancellation cover
- Excess cover
- Golf cover
- Travel disruption
- Winter sports
- Waiting list cover
- Extended stay cover
- Travel companion cover
What is my excess?
Excess is the agreed amount that you’ll have to pay in the event of a claim before AllClear’s policy pays out.
The amount of excess payable varies depending on your insurance policy.
What is the claims process for AllClear?
If you need emergency medical care whilst you’re away, contact the medical emergency assistance company as soon as possible (but not before contacting the local emergency services). You’ll find the details of who you need to contact within your policy documents.
To process non-emergency claims, you’ll need to contact the claims-handling company appointed by your provider. If you have opted to go with AllClear then you can use the Reactive Claims website (found within AllClear’s “Make a claim” webpage) to register your claim.
Pros and cons
Pros
- No age restrictions
- 24/7 emergency assistance available with all providers
- Over 1,300 conditions covered
- Wide range of optional extras to increase protection in certain areas
Cons
- AllClear is a platform that allows you to compare quotes from different providers, which means that benefits, restrictions and claim processes may vary depending on the quote you pick
- Whilst the quotes you’ll find on AllClear are competitive, you won’t necessarily get the best price possible for your policy
Our verdict
Having a travel insurance platform geared towards specialist medical policies could save you a lot of leg work in the first instance. What’s more, you won’t need to stress about being too old as AllClear has no age limit to its policies.
However, don’t rule out shopping around with other insurers as you may find a more competitive quote elsewhere.
