The awards recognise financial providers that are innovating in their field, by bringing new and impactful features to the market and delivering unique and beneficial services to their customers. The awards were decided by a panel of 4 expert judges:

  • Niels Pedersen, Senior Fintech Lecturer, Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Cherry Reynard, Investment Journalist
  • Charlie Barton, Investment Specialist & Growth Manager, Finder
  • Ceri Stanaway, Personal Finance Journalist
  • And the winners are…

The top spot in the Share Dealing Innovation category goes to Freetrade, while Trading 212 take the highly commended spot.

Trading 212 have also scooped the highly commended place in the Stocks & Shares ISA Innovation category, with Plum winning the award.

PensionBee is the winner of the Pensions Innovation award, followed by Moneybox in the highly commended spot.

The accolades don’t end there for Moneybox, with the company taking first place in the Saving Innovation category, with Revolut getting highly commended.

The CFD & Forex Trading Innovation category recognised City Index in the highly commended spot.

Sugi has had an awards to remember, winning the Investing Innovation Newcomer Award, along with the ESG Investing Innovation category, which also sees Tulipshare recognised as the highly commended company in that sector.

Commenting on the awards, Charlie Barton, Investment Specialist at finder.com, said: “The increasing popularity of investing has been matched by the services of some great companies and products this year. Our awards celebrate those who innovate with the consumer in mind and stand out among other companies in this area. While many brands were in contention for these awards, those who have secured a win or commendation have shown their strength in the investing industry, innovating in ways that remain unmatched and spur excitement for what’s to come. A big congratulations to all the winning and highly commended companies!

Niels Pedersen, Senior Fintech Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, and author of Financial Technology: Case Studies in Fintech Innovation, added: “The most exciting newcomers in investing are in the ESG space. As people grow increasingly worried about climate change, they are no longer fooled by ‘green wash’. While more established firms appear to have overlooked this, these newcomers provide customers with greater transparency and clearer links to tangible environmental outcomes.

    Methodology:
The shortlist of finalists in each category was selected by Finder’s subject area specialists, who identified the providers they felt were displaying key innovations in their field.

This shortlist was then passed to an expert judging panel, who decided the winning and highly commended companies by assessing the finalists across three different criteria: uniqueness of innovation, impact in the market and value to customers.
