What devices and platforms is NOW compatible with?

NOW gives you two possible options for viewing.

Through the NOW box

The NOW box is a set-top box available for purchase on the NOW website. It costs £45.99 including shipping and handling and will be sent direct to your door. The box plugs into your TV through the HDMI cable-in port. If you’re unsure about whether or not your TV is compatible, you can check with your TV manufacturer online. The box comes with a small remote, and once plugged in will then give you full access to all NOW services.

NOW pros and cons

Pros

  • No lock in contracts or commitments
  • Great flexibility from the Sky Sports day pass and week pass
  • No installation or set up costs

Cons

  • Only available when connected to the internet
  • Not available outside UK

Verdict

NOW is a solid TV service that delivers the best entertainment, sports and movies directly to your TV in a no-fuss way. The service is also fairly good value for money, flexible and gives you access to loads of great movies, sports and shows at a cheap price.

The main downside is that the service is not available offline. But if you’re looking for more flexibility or control over what channels you have access to, then NOW might be exactly what you’re looking for.

I struggle with a download speed of only 1.2. Would this be sufficient to run NOW TV?

      Hi Tim,

Thanks for reaching out to Finder.

An internet speed of 1.2Mbps will not be enough and may cause buffering when you watch video streams with NOW TV.

To avoid slow loading and buffering issues, you should have an internet speed of at least 2.5Mbps if you are using wi-fi or broadband. For 3G or 4G devices, the minimum speed needed is 450Kbps.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Charisse

I have an LG smart TV, do I need a TV box?

      Hello Pauline,

      Thank you for your comment.

There’s no need to purchase a NowTV box if you have an LG Smart TV. You can directly access NowTV services in the LG Smart TV by connecting it to the internet and accessing your NowTV account.

      Regards,

      Hi Vivien,

      Thanks for your question.

You need to get a different subscription for the entertainment channels. The monthly subscription for the Entertainment channels is £6.99/month) and £9.99/month for movies.

      Cheers,
      Anndy
