In general, the bigger the engine, the higher the cost of your insurance. The engine in a Ford Focus varies depending on the model you choose. The smallest engine available with a Ford Focus is a 1.0 Litre, with the size then increasing up to a 2.0 engine of varying strengths. The turbocharged RS model can go up to a 2.3 Litre engine.

You can also choose between petrol and diesel engines, with different levels of performance. An average 30-year-old may pay £640 for the 1.0-litre Ford Focus Edge 1.0T 100 EcoBoost 5dr, but could pay around £674 for the 1.6-litre diesel Ford Focus Edge 1.6 TDCi 115 5dr.
