What is Avios and how does it work?

Avios is a frequent flyer scheme that allows you to earn points towards the cost of a flight as you spend. You can earn points through flying, spending with Avios partner brands or converting points from other programmes, such as the Sainsbury’s Nectar points scheme. There are several credit cards and business credit cards that offer Avios but the best Avios credit card for you will ultimately depend on whether you are happy to pay an annual fee.

You can redeem your Avios points via the Avios website. You can use them to book flights, a hotel or car hire, or to book days out and experiences or even order wine.

We show offers we can track - that's not every product on the market...yet. Unless we've said otherwise, products are in no particular order. The terms "best", "top", "cheap" (and variations of these) aren't ratings, though we always explain what's great about a product when we highlight it. This is subject to our terms of use. When you make major financial decisions, consider getting independent financial advice. Always consider your own circumstances when you compare products so you get what's right for you. Most of the data in Finder's comparison tables has the source: Moneyfacts Group PLC. In other cases, Finder has sourced data directly from providers.
