Welcome to the Finder Credit Cards Customer Satisfaction Awards 2022
When it comes to picking a credit card, it’s important you get the opinion of the people who matter most: the customers. Our awards are designed to find the credit card providers that really care about their customers, as chosen by you.
The winners
We’ve selected our winners based on two factors: overall satisfaction score (star rating) and recommendation score (if a customer would recommend the credit card provider to a friend). You can read more on our methodology below.
Here are the winners for 2022:
Credit Card Customer Satisfaction Winner:
American Express
For the third year running, American Express is our Customer Satisfaction Award winner, with back-to-back 5-star ratings, and a best-in-class recommendation score. 90% of American Express customers would recommend the provider to a friend.
American Express was founded in 1850. It currently has more than 114 million cards in circulation and accounts for almost a quarter of the world’s credit card transactions by US dollar volume.

M&S Bank is this year’s runner up, matching Amex’s 5-star rating, and boasting an impressive recommendation score. 88% of M&S Bank customers would recommend the company to a friend, so it was just pipped to the post by American Express by a mere 2%.

Customer satisfaction ratings methodology
In December 2021, we ran a customer satisfaction survey on credit cards. 2,155 people responded and gave us their opinion on their current credit card provider.
The survey asked respondents how satisfied they are with their credit card provider (using a 1-5 rating) and whether they would recommend the brand to a friend. We converted the responses into customer satisfaction star ratings and used these results to decide our award winner. If there was a draw, we used the recommendation score (the percentage of customers who said they would recommend the brand to a friend) as a tie-breaker.
You can get a full breakdown of our ratings methodology for credit cards here.
