Its features are customizable, with dozens of templates that you can use as-is or tweak to your exact specifications. What is monday.com?

Monday.com is a widely used online work management platform with customers worldwide. It’s a collaborative tool that allows team members to manage tasks and workflows using customizable building blocks to increase productivity and efficiency.

Some of its clients include Uber, Marriott, Exelon, Coca-Cola and AeroMexico, to name just a few.

What makes monday.com shine?

Monday.com is a tool meant for organizations of all sizes and has five membership tiers to choose from. The free plan is meant for teams of two, and the paid plans can be scaled for teams as small as three to as large as you need.

Its work management platform, in particular, is so scalable that almost any type of business can customize it to suit its purposes.

Plus, the products integrate with 200+ popular outside tools, such as Docusign, Excel and Slack. Centralizing all your information makes it easier to collaborate and increase productivity.

Where monday.com falls short

Monday.com doesn’t allow customized pricing by the exact number of team members.

It says it charges by the person/seat, but you’re actually limited to these seat numbers — 3, 5, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 100 or 200+. So, if you only have 11 team members, you still have to pay for 15 seats.

It gets worse if you only need 31 seats but have to pay for 40. Once you go beyond 40 seats, you get into custom pricing.

Plus, its free and basic plans may not offer enough functionality for many businesses. For instance, only two team members can use the free plan. While it says this plan is meant for small teams, two people is a very small team.

The Basic plan is the lowest paid plan, and it’s missing key features, such as automations, integrations and timeline and calendar views. It also only allows 5 GB of storage space, which is barely enough to cover average cell phone usage.

For anything more than a pretty bare-bones operation, you probably need at least the Standard plan, if not the Pro.
