Compare a wide variety of options from a lender that's upfront about the cost.
CashNetUSA offers payday loans, installment loans and lines of credit to borrowers with bad credit. You could potentially qualify for same-day funding, and unlike many other lenders, CashNetUSA is upfront about how much you'll pay. But the cost is still high — and your options will depend on your state.
Bottom line: CashNetUSA is one of the few online lenders that offers payday loans on the same day you apply. But like short-term option, it's an expensive choice that could lead to more future debt. Read our full review.

Payday loans
Payday loan laws vary by state, but in most cases, you will pay a finance charge for every $100 you borrow. This means your annual percentage rate (APR) will change depending on when you have to pay back your loan.

Installment loans
Where you live determines how much you can apply for and how long you have to pay back the loan. The amounts are usually larger than a payday loan, and the repayment terms are longer. Your financial situation determines if you have the option to make monthly or bimonthly payments.

What is CashNetUSA and is it legit?
CashNetUSA is a legit lender with an industry-standard privacy policy that outlines how it shares your personal information for its own marketing purposes, everyday business practices and joint marketing efforts with other financial companies. However, you can limit this sharing by visiting the Opt out page on its website or by calling its customer service number. Its website and application also features SSL encryption to protect any information you enter online. In addition, CashNetUSA has an entire page dedicated to understanding online safety and avoiding common scam tactics. If you have any questions, you can contact CashNetUSA via their customer service phone number or email address.
Why was government action taken against CashNetUSA?
In January 2015, the Commissioner of Business Oversight in the State of California cited CashNetUSA for unscrupulous business practices that violated the California Financial Code. Among the charges filed against CashNetUSA include:
Charging unlawfully high interest rates
Withdrawing more money than originally agreed upon from customer accounts
Illegally charging returned payment and late fees with its Extended Payment Plan
Not updating its license with its legal name
Not disclosing that its licensed by the Department of Business Oversight on its website
As a result, CashNetUSA was forbidden from collecting any interest or fees related to the above citations. It was only legally allowed to collect on the principal amount its California customers borrowed.

CashNetUSA receives mixed reviews on its Better Business Bureau (BBB) page and on Trustpilot. Those happy with the lender praise its fast, easy application. Negative reviews centered around the high cost of borrowing. While these are valid complaints, it’s important to remember that payday loans tend to have high interest rates. Payday and installment loans are repaid over short periods of time — usually a few weeks to a few months — and you should expect to pay $10 to $30 for every $100 borrowed.
Am I eligible?
To qualify for a loan or line of credit from CashNetUSA, you need to meet the following requirements:
Active checking account
Regular source of income
US citizen or permanent resident
At least 18 years old
Unlike traditional loans from banks or credit unions that rely on your credit score, CashNetUSA looks at all the aspects of your application, such as how long you’ve been employed and how frequently you get paid, to determine if you can afford a loan.
What information do I need to apply?
You’ll need to submit a few basic details to complete an application with CashNetUSA, including:
Date of birth
Social Security number
State ID number
Details about your income
Details about your bank account
How do I apply?
To get started, visit the CashNetUSA website. Click the Go to site button on this page and a discount code will automatically be filled for you. Fill out the application with a few personal details and create an account with CashNetUSA. From here, you can agree to its terms of service, including a credit check. You should receive a decision almost immediately after submitting your application. If approved, read the fine print listed on your loan contract and in the FAQs on CashNetUSA’s website. While payday loans can be a good way to afford emergency expenses, they’re an expensive form of credit. You should know the full cost so you can be sure to avoid any extra charges for late or missed payments. Once you sign your contract, you’ll have your funds deposited into your bank account as soon as the same business day if approved by 10:30 a.m. CT. If not, your funds should generally be available within one to two business days.
What are my payment options?
You can repay your loan online or by mail — just give yourself a few extra days to make sure it gets there in time. If CashNetUSA doesn’t receive the check by 5 p.m. CT on your due date, you might incur late fees. If you choose to pay online, enter your checking account information and authorize it to make a withdrawal on the date your payment is due. CashNetUSA will automatically withdraw the funds from your bank account on the due date. To make changes to your banking information, contact customer service by emailing through your account or calling 888-801-9078 at least two days before your payment is due. You’ll also need to fax a copy of either a voided check or a bank statement from that account — it doesn’t accept starter checks.
I didn’t get the loan. What can I do?
There are a number of reasons you might not have qualified for a loan. Depending on your income and employment history, CashNetUSA may have determined that you couldn’t afford to borrow at this point in time. Or you might not have resided in one of its serviced states. You may want to consider other lenders that may approve you instead.
What other products and services does CashNetUSA offer?
In addition to its loans and lines of credit, CashNetUSA also offers two other services for its borrowers:
Savings program. CashNetUSA partnered with other companies to offer exclusive discounts on everything from tax preparation to eating out.
Financial literacy. When working with CashNetUSA, all borrowers get access to free online financial education courses and interactive tools to help you take control of your finances.
No. CashNetUSA doesn’t report payments to any of the three major credit bureaus. However, if you default on a loan and it is sold to collections, you may see a drop in your credit.
Can I extend or refinance my loan?
You may be able to extend your payday loan if you’re a resident of on of these states:
Alabama
Alaska
Louisiana
Maine
North Dakota
Nevada
Ohio
Rhode Island
Texas
If you’re eligible, a Request extension button will appear on the homepage of your account. Just keep in mind that refinancing is an expensive option that could lead to taking on more debt.
Will I have to fax any documents?
In most cases, no. But you might have to if you receive alimony, disability benefits or are self-employed.

Why do you have to give your bank id number and password to your online banking to get a loan for 28 months
Harold Finder
September 26, 2017
Hi Tootie,
Thank you for your inquiry.
While we do not represent any company that we feature on our pages, we can offer you a general information. Generally, payday lenders ask for your Internet banking details because it gives them a way to access your statements. This is one way payday lenders are able to process your application much faster than banks. Instead of you emailing your bank statements from the past three months, the lender can access them instantly.
To protect your information, legitimate lenders either provide only portals for you to log in directly to your bank and approve viewing access or ask for your bank account numbers. If a lender asks for your username and password directly, it could be a scam.
CashNetUSA will only ask for your bank account numbers during the initial application. After you’ve signed a loan agreement, it may require you to log in through a portal in order to verify your bank information.
Yes, you can still apply for a personal loan even if you are under a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit. See our list of pensioner loans to compare your options.
