Finder analyzes expert price predictions each quarter. We surveyed 25 crypto industry specialists in late April 2025 to get their thoughts on how ether (ETH) will perform through 2035.

All prices mentioned in this report are denominated in US dollars.

On average, our panel thinks ether will be worth $4,153 by the end of 2025 before rising to $9,495 by year-end 2030 and then $17,042 by 2035.

Ether (ETH) price predictions for 2025, 2030 and 2035

ETH’s price is expected to rise to $4,153 by year-end 2025, according to the average prediction from Finder’s panelists. This prediction is a little more bearish than their end-of-2025 prediction of $5,770 in the January 2025 report.

The panelists also predict ETH will hit $9,495 by 2030 and $17,042 by 2035. Just like with their 2025 prediction, the panel is slightly more bearish than their average predictions from our January 2025 survey, when they projected ETH to reach $10,738 by 2030 and $21,516 by 2035.

Josh Fraser, cofounder of Origin Protocol, is our most bullish panel member with a year-end prediction of $13,400 and sees its value surging as the year progresses.

Ethereum is evolving into the settlement layer for global finance, with staking yields, rollup adoption and tokenized assets driving organic demand for ETH. As ETH supply continues to deflate post-merge and major ETFs (exchange-traded funds) unlock institutional inflows, a surge past $10K this year is within reach. Long-term, $30K+ is plausible as ethereum captures a growing share of global value transfer and decentralized infrastructure.

Johnny Gabriele, head analyst of blockchain economics and AI integration at the Lifted Initiative, is fairly bullish, predicting ETH will close 2025 worth $10,000 based on its potential for institutional adoption.

The institutions are building on ethereum, not XRP, not solona. The vast majority of real institutional adoption.

Pedro Febrero, chef at Hex1, also provides a prediction of $10,000, saying that:

Ethereum is the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) king. The market has chosen the EVM as the main stack for smart contracts, thus solidifying ethereum’s importance.

At the other end of the spectrum is John Hawkins, senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, who thinks that the value of ETH could topple all the way to $1,000.

Ethereum has fallen in value even more than bitcoin in recent months. Trump created a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve, not a Crypto Strategic Reserve. The Digital Asset Stockpile will not involve any purchases of ethereum.

How high and low will ether (ETH) go in 2025?

Our panelists predict that ETH’s average peak price in 2025 will be $4,988, with some predicting it will climb as high as $15,200.

Over a third (35%) of our panelists feel that ETH’s price will rise into the $4,000 to $5,999 range at its highest before the close of 2025, while a little under a third (30%) believe we’ll see ETH’s price within the $2,000 to $3,999 range within the same time frame.

The average lowest price our panelists predict ETH will hit in 2025 is $1,475, with some predicting it will fall as low as $1,000.

A little under a third of the panel (30%) think ETH’s price bottom for the remainder of the year is somewhere between $1,500 and $1,749 or between $1,000 and $1,249 in 2025.

Nicole DeCicco, the CEO of CryptoConsultz, is quite bullish and thinks that ETH could go as high as $6,800 due to its utility in the smart contract space.

Ethereum continues to be the backbone of the smart contract ecosystem, and it’s evolving fast. The Pectra upgrade is another step toward making the network faster and more secure, which is exactly what developers and users need to feel confident building long-term projects on-chain.

Ben Ritchie, the managing director of Alpha Node, also provided an above-average max price prediction for ETH ($7,000) due to its blockchain infrastructure.

Real-world assets need long-term blockchain infrastructure, and ethereum, with its proven security and widespread adoption of the EVM, remains the strongest candidate. As the RWA market grows, so too should the demand for ethereum.

Is now the time to buy, hold or sell ether (ETH)?

ETH is currently experiencing a dip in its price, and 64% of the panel say it’s time to buy ethereum, with 20% saying it’s a hold and 16% believing it’s a good time to sell.

Ruadhan O, the founder of Seasonal Tokens, says now is a time to buy.

Ethereum’s price has gone down in a straight line since the start of the year, dropping more than half from its peak of $4,000 in December. The long-term chart shows support at $1,500 and strong support at $1,000, indicating that the downtrend is likely to break soon.

Jean Rausis, the CEO of RA2 CAPITAL, also says it’s a buy, as “ethereum is an applicative layer and should follow tech-stocks type of adoption and price curve.”

Joseph Raczynski, a futurist at JT Consulting & Media, is in the “hold” camp, saying that ETH could get outshined by flashier blockchains.

Ethereum has the brains but not the brand. Without a strong, centralized marketing push, it’s getting outshined by flashier blockchains. If it doesn’t secure its spot at the table, it might end up as the genius no one remembers.

Miles Paschini, the CEO of FV Bank, says it’s time to hold as ETH is seeing increased competition.

ETH is the go-to ‘internet compute’ L1 with broadly accepted standards. It, however, will face competition from the likes of SOL and others. It has a decent chance of being adopted in the next phase of market expansion, where corporates and new developers seek reliability and security over bells and whistles.

Michiel Frackers, the chairman of Tracer, says that it’s time to sell your ethereum as there are other “available alternatives that are cheaper and faster.”

Is ether (ETH) overpriced, underpriced or priced fairly?

The overwhelming majority (68%) say that ethereum is currently underpriced, with the remaining panel members either saying it’s overpriced (16%) or fairly priced (16%).

Ruslan Lienkha, the chief of markets at YouHodler, says ETH is underpriced and has strong potential for upward movement.

ETH remains the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization and the leading platform for Layer 2 solutions. Given its integral role in the crypto ecosystem, ETH holds a strategic position in any diversified crypto portfolio. Therefore, I believe it has strong potential for upward movement.

Shannon Blood, the CMO of InFlux Technologies, also says ETH is underpriced:

Ethereum is lagging significantly right now despite massive developments. When Bitcoin dominance finally rolls over, because of extreme altcoin dilution, only the projects with utility will pump and ethereum could see insane all-time-highs.

Kadan Stadlemann, CTO and project lead at Komodo Platform, thinks that ETH is priced fairly, as it has faced recent struggles that it will need to overcome.

While ethereum (ETH) has long been a dominant force in the blockchain space, several factors could put downward pressure on its price. First, the recent fallout from the Bybit hack raises concerns over the security of centralized platforms supporting ethereum-based assets. This could undermine investor confidence and create short-term uncertainty for the ethereum ecosystem. Additionally, the rise of competing Layer 2 (L2) tokens presents a challenge, as newer L2 solutions aim to offer lower fees and faster transaction speeds, potentially drawing developers and users away from ethereum. Lastly, competing Layer 1 (L1) chains like solana (SOL), with their high throughput and low transaction costs, continue to gain traction, challenging ethereum’s dominance. If these chains continue to improve and attract more adoption, they could siphon market share from ethereum, potentially stalling its price growth.

Jeremy Britton, the CFO of BostonTrading.co, thinks that ETH is overpriced, citing concerns of its lack of decentralization.

Investor sentiment around ETH is not only linked to its technical aspects and chain updates. There are many concerns around ETH not being decentralized enough. There are questions around whether it could be manipulated and if newer projects could have solved many of ETH’s problems while the devs were napping.

Will Ethereum’s recent Pectra upgrade attract more developers to the platform?

Over half of the panel sees the Pectra upgrade having a positive impact on attracting developers to the platform, with 28% saying that it will likely attract more developers and 24% saying it’s very likely.

Dr Sathvik Vishwanath, the CEO of Unocoin Technologies, says that it’s very likely to attract new developers as “the Pectra upgrade is another step toward making ethereum more scalable and secure.”

Mitesh Shah, the founder and CEO of Omnia Markets, says it will likely positively impact bringing devs to the network.

While the specific features finalized in Pectra might have a strong focus on validator lifecycle management and staking mechanisms, any upgrade that demonstrably strengthens network security and performance contributes positively to the overall health and appeal of the platform. Therefore, it’s likely that these enhancements will contribute to attracting more developers by reinforcing confidence in ethereum’s ongoing evolution and technical capabilities, complementing its already strong network effect and established developer community. The degree of attraction might depend on the specific user-facing or smart-contract interaction improvements included in the final Pectra specifications; however, this general increase in development may also help push the price of ETH alongside market movements expected later in the year.

Tommy Honan, the director of product at Swyftx, also says it’s likely to attract developers as it will level up scalability.

With the Pectra upgrades on the horizon, ethereum is about to level up in scalability and efficiency. As the powerhouse behind DeFi and smart contracts, I see ETH reaching $3,500 by 2025. There’s massive growth ahead for ethereum to re-establish itself as the home of DeFi and proving ground for real-life use cases.

Ethereum is the leading smart contract platform with the most active developer community and highest TVL (Total Value Locked). The Pectra upgrade is another step toward making ethereum more scalable and secure, which directly impacts dApp performance and user experience. With increasing interest from institutions in DeFi and tokenized assets, ETH has a massive runway for growth. At ~$2,000, it's still trading far below its future potential, especially considering Layer 2 adoption and real-world asset tokenization on ethereum.

The Pectra upgrade is another step toward making the network faster and more secure, which is exactly what developers and users need to feel confident building long-term projects on-chain. We work with clients at CryptoConsultz who are actively exploring tokenization, digital identity systems, and other real-world applications, and nearly all of them are still leaning toward ethereum as their base layer. That tells me the network's reputation, tooling, and stability still matter a lot, even as newer chains emerge. Ethereum's price doesn't yet reflect the full value of the work happening behind the scenes. With continued progress on scaling and improvements like the Pectra upgrade rolling out, I think we're still early in seeing the results of Ethereum's shift to proof-of-stake and the broader transition into a more mature phase of its growth.
