Finder analyzes expert price predictions each quarter. We surveyed 26 crypto industry specialists in late December 2024 to early January 2025 to get their thoughts on how ether (ETH) would perform through 2035.
All prices mentioned in this report are denominated in US dollars.
On average, our panel thinks ether (ETH) will be worth $5,770 by the end of 2025 before rising to $10,738 by year-end 2030 and then $21,516 by 2035.
Ether (ETH) price predictions for 2025, 2030 and 2035
ETH’s price is expected to rise to $5,770 by year-end 2025, according to the average prediction from Finder’s panelists. This prediction is a little more bearish than their end-of-2025 prediction of $6,105 prediction in the October report.
The panelists also predict ETH will hit $10,738 by 2030 and $21,516 by 2035. Just like with their 2025 prediction, the panel is slightly more bearish than their average predictions from our October 2024 survey, when they projected ETH to reach $12,059 by 2030.
Morty Tollo, CEO of Elbaite, is one of our more bullish panel members on ETH’s potential in 2025, predicting it will end the year worth $10,000.
If the SEC in 2025 can clear up the status of ethereum related to its possibility of being a security or not, it could open the door to ETH ETFs (exchange-traded funds) staking fund held ETH to generate yield, this would be an excellent.
Johnny Gabriele, head analyst of blockchain economics and AI integration at the Lifted Initiative, is also fairly bullish, predicting ETH will close 2025 worth $14,000 off the back of the new administration.
Ethereum has been beaten down in 2024. However, I think the new administration opening up regulations as well as big banks building on ethereum will lead to massive tailwinds for the asset.
Pedro Febrero, chef at Hex1, provides a prediction that is a little above the average at $6,000 but sees interest in ETH skyrocketing once bitcoin (BTC) clears $150K.
Ethereum is the king of all EVMs and where most of the DeFi liquidity sits. I expect the more sophisticated investors to move from $btc into $eth once bitcoin surpasses $150,000 due to the clear risk/reward opportunity.
At the other end of the spectrum is John Hawkins, senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, who says the price of ETH will fall to $3,000.
Trump’s victory, growing influence of Musk and talk of a Bitcoin reserve should make Bitcoin and Doge more attractive than other crypto and so drive down their price. But in the past, there has been a strong correlation between the price of bitcoin and that of other coins.
How high and low will ether (ETH) go in 2025?
Our panelists predict that ETH’s average peak price in 2025 will be $6,513, with some predicting it will climb as high as $18,000.
Over a third (38%) of our panelists feel that ETH’s price will rise into the $5,000 to $7,499 range at its highest before the close of 2025, while a little over a quarter (29%) believe we’ll see ETH’s price within the $2,500 to $4,999 range within the same time frame.
The average lowest price our panelists predict ETH will hit in 2025 is $3,037, with some predicting it will fall as low as $2,000.
Around two-fifths of the panel (43%) think ETH’s price bottom for the remainder of the year is somewhere between $3,000 and $3,499. An additional 26% say ETH’s price will fall somewhere between $2,500 and $2,999 in 2025.
Nicole DeCicco, the CEO of CryptoConsultz, is quite bullish and thinks that ETH will hit $8K, saying that the Ethereum network is the backbone of the DeFi space.
Ethereum isn’t just a cryptocurrency; it’s the foundation for decentralized finance, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and countless applications that are driving real-world use. This utility continues to create strong demand for ETH, especially as the ecosystem expands with new developers and projects. Scalability is a key factor.
Ben Ritchie, the managing director of Alpha Node, also provided an above-average max price prediction for ETH ($12,000) off the back of interest from institutional investors and the new spot Ethereum ETFs.
We believe Ethereum is superior in terms of network security and reliability compared to competitors, which is likely to result in institutional investors including ETH in their portfolio. A large part of this demand will be in the form of the ETH Spot ETFs and potentially yielding ETH ETFs. In addition, increased demand may result in ETH becoming deflationary, which will impact supply and, accordingly, upward price action.
Is now the time to buy, hold or sell ether (ETH)?
Compared to their feelings on Bitcoin, our panel is more uneasy with the value ETH represents, with 46% saying now is a good time to buy ethereum, with 42% saying it’s a hold and 13% believing it’s a good time to sell.
Josh Fraser, cofounder of Origin Protocol, sees ETH as a buy and calls Ethereum “the World’s computer.”
Ethereum is the World’s computer, capturing value from all areas of finance and investment. We’re seeing an increasing amount of RWAs being tokenized on Ethereum, as well as fiat currencies, traditional financial instruments and new primitives enabled by Ethereum’s blockchain.
Gracy Chen, the CEO of Bitget, also says now is a time to buy based on the behavior of whales.
ETH whales are continuously accumulating and gearing up: Over the past year, the proportion of holdings by the top 100 ETH addresses has increased from 50% to 66%.
Ruslan Lienkha, the chief of markets at YouHodler, is in the ‘hold’ camp based on its role in driving innovation within the blockchain space.
Ethereum continues to serve as the primary ecosystem for the majority of Layer 2 projects, and this dominance is expected to persist in the coming year. Its robust infrastructure, extensive developer community and established network effect make it the go-to platform for scaling solutions and decentralized applications. Given Ethereum’s role in driving innovation within the blockchain space, it is likely to maintain its leadership position as the foundational environment for Layer 2 technologies, providing scalability, efficiency and enhanced functionality for a wide range of projects.
Is ether (ETH) overpriced, underpriced or priced fairly?
In keeping with our panel being unsure whether it’s a great time to buy ETH, 44% feel that ETH is currently underpriced, and a little over half (52%) feel that it’s priced fairly.
Only 4% feel that it’s overpriced.
Ronen Cojocaru, the CEO of 8081 Inc, says that ETH is underpriced, saying multiple events will impact ETH’s performance toward the end of the year and into 2025.
[ETH’s] growing use in DeFi, its shift to proof-of-stake and rising demand for Web3 applications. These factors, along with strong investor interest, support its potential for growth.
Adam Zec, CEO of MyStandard, says ETH is underpriced and attributes his ETH forecast to “oversaturation of layer-1s.”
Eth is lagging because of the oversaturation of layer 1s. Deflationary Tokenomics combined with a rotation back to the main chain will drive ETH up.
Jeremy Britton, the CFO of BostonTrading.co, thinks that ETH is priced fairly based on its future prospects:
ETH still powers over 80% of cryptocurrency. This position is being eroded by new memecoins on SOL, BNB and POLY, but ETH dominance will persist for a few years.
What led to ETH’s strong end to 2024?
As to why ETH picked up momentum towards the end of 2024, about a third (35%) said it was due to growing institutional adoption, with one in five (19%) saying it was macro-economic factors (i.e., anticipation surrounding the effects of the US presidential election).
What future use cases are there for ETH?
Beyond finance, the emerging use cases or applications of blockchain technology the panel is most excited about are in the area of tokenization (36%).
Joseph Raczynski, a futurist at JT Consulting & Media, sees Ethereum playing a key role in the development of tokenization but says that Eth’s position in the market is less than guaranteed going forward.
Ethereum, at the moment, is the most trusted of all the L1s with smart contracts. That said, the ease of use for other blockchains poses a risk. Ethereum also has a branding issue — they don’t market or explain to end users its superior value proposition. Ultimately, the marketplace will decide if they care about decentralizing versus centralized processes.
Mitesh Shah, the founder and CEO of Omnia Markets, is excited about what ETH means for decentralized trade.
Ethereum is well-positioned to play a key role in the development of decentralized trade due to its robust smart contract functionality. Smart contracts can automate and enforce the terms of agreements between buyers and sellers, ensuring secure and reliable transactions. Furthermore, Ethereum’s large and active developer community is constantly building new tools and applications that can facilitate decentralized trade.
