According to its website, Changelly is based in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Its mobile app has millions of users and, according to CoinGecko, the platform has a daily trading volume of more than $200,000 (as of March 2025).
Changelly supports over 391 cryptocurrencies, but some notable assets are missing. Namely, Lido Staked Ether, Toncoin and LEO Token, which are in the top 20 cryptos by market cap. In total, 14 of the top 20 cryptos are available on Changelly.

Before you can even get started trading on Changelly, you have to go through the rigorous verification process (which usually involves providing proof of identification). This can take time. The reason for this is Changelly's commitment to certifications and compliance with regulations and insurers.
The Changelly app is available for Android and iOS devices.
Changelly is a non-custodial platform that does not store users' deposits. Two-factor authentication is available as an extra layer of account security, and Changelly regularly monitors trading activity for suspicious transactions.
Hacks. As of the time of writing, we couldn't find any records of Changelly being hacked.
Insurance. The company does not have third-party insurance to cover losses from unauthorized account access. To counteract the impact of customer bankruptcies and negative account balances, it maintains an in-house Insurance Fund and uses Auto-Deleveraging (ADL). These measures involve collecting liquidation fees from non-bankrupt traders and using the profits of some traders to offset the losses of others.
Regulation. Changelly isn't registered with the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) or the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

With Changelly, you’re unable to cash out your coins directly to a bank account. However, you may be able to turn the cryptocurrency you bought using fiat money to cash by transferring to another exchange that can link a bank account and cash it from there. You can check for the list of cryptocurrency exchanges having such a feature.
You may also check coinbase pro exchange review showing the analysis of GDAX, which is one of the digital exchanges that lets you turn your fiat currency into cash.
It might be helpful as well to learn more about selling bitcoins.

I went to the Changelly site, and was surprised that they allow me to log in by using my gmail account with no password requirement, or two step verification. Isn’t this unsecure, and shouldn’t Changelly require better security? Also I see no XRP on Changelly.

Changelly is actually a trusted exchange service that is safe and convenient to use.
Your email is needed so you can create an account that will give you access to your transaction history, password editing and other account settings. Once logged in, you will have the option to enable the two step verification via the Google Authenticator app.

I understand how one purchases crypto currency with fiat dollars (credit card), but how does one withdraw the crypto currency purchased in fiat dollars when one wants to cash out.??
