Our verdict

Rampant fees and an enormous APR mean you should stay far away.

The Revvi Visa® Credit Card is a fee-laden card marketed as a tool that can help you build credit. Unfortunately, the card has a greater chance of hindering your credit-building efforts than helping. Right off the bat, you’ll need to pay a $95 setup fee — something you won’t find on any card worth owning. On top of that, you’ll pay a $75 annual fee for your first year and $48 each year thereafter. The card also possesses the rare monthly service fee starting on your second year, which will cost you an additional $8.25 per month. Finally, the card comes with a gut punch of an APR at 35.99% variable.

This card, in short, is meant to passively suck money out of your wallet. To simply own the card for your first year, you’ll be paying $170. While some providers like to argue that such fees are the tradeoff for being allowed to own a credit card with poor credit, this argument doesn’t hold much weight in today’s market, where plentiful credit-building options are available without such blistering fees — powerful credit-building cards, at that.

As such, we can’t recommend this card to consumers, even those desperate to build credit. The risks are too great and the fees are too many.

Revvi Visa® Credit Card drawbacks

  • Numerous painful fees. The Revvi Visa® Credit Card possesses the following fees, which are not commonly found with other credit-building card options.
    • Activation fee: $95
    • Annual fee: $75 your first year and $48 for each following year
    • Monthly fee: $8.25 per month starting your second year
    • Credit limit increase fee: If your credit limit is increased at any point, Revvi will charge you 20% of that increase as a fee
    • Premium plastic card design fee: Choose the premium plastic card design for this card and you’ll get charged a fee based on the chosen design
    • Express delivery fee: You’ll pay a $35 fee for the express delivery of your card. It’s not clear if you can opt out of this delivery method
    • Other typical fees: This is all on top of typical card fees you might find, such as cash advance fees greater than $10 or 3% of the advance.
  • Large ongoing APR. The Revvi Visa® Credit Card comes with a 35.99% variable APR, well above the 16% industry average. Carry a balance on this card and you’ll quickly rack up interest.
  • Small credit limit. The maximum starting credit limit on this card is $300. What’s more, your annual fee will be taken from this limit, resulting in an actual starting credit limit of $225.

Revvi Visa® Credit Card benefits

  • There are not many benefits to speak of when it comes to this product. This card is so loaded with fees and there are so many better credit-building options on the market – including secured cards – that there aren’t enough benefits to justify the use of this card.

How the Finder Score helps you find a better credit card

The Finder Score is a simple score out of 10. The higher a savings account's score, the better we think it is for the average customer.

We score each credit card in our database of hundreds based on a data-driven methodology with 3 main criteria: Does the card offer rewards? Does the card have an annual fee? What's the card APR%?

Revvi Visa® Credit Card customer reviews and complaints

We’re unable to find customer reviews of the Revvi Visa® Credit Card as of October 2021. What’s more, we couldn’t find the provider behind the Revvi Visa® Credit Card, MRV Banks, on the Better Business Bureau or Trustpilot websites.

Bottom line

Steer clear of this expensive credit card. If you need help building your credit score, there are better credit-building options available, even if you have a history of poor credit. You can also check out some secured credit cards for another easily accessible — but less financially punishing — credit-building option.
